Wound Care

Heal faster with specialized wound care including hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Sometimes wounds are difficult to heal. Conditions such as diabetes, circulation issues, or reduced mobility can make it tough for some wounds to heal. If you have a non-healing wound, our wound care specialists offer state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care at four Nuvance Health hospitals: Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Putnam Hospital, Northern Dutchess Hospital and Sharon Hospital.

The multidisciplinary wound care team has experience in general surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, and podiatric surgery, as well as infection control and hyperbaric oxygen medicine. Each team member is committed to healing complicated wounds and providing innovative, comprehensive and compassionate care.

A wound that won’t heal can be a painful daily concern. Our goal is to heal your wounds so you can get on with living.

Why Choose Us

  • Each of our wound healing centers are staffed by physicians, registered nurses and specialty technicians who are trained in advanced wound care
  • We bring wound healing close to you, with four wound care centers in hospital settings in the Mid-Hudson Valley and northwestern Connecticut
  • Each of our wound care locations offers advanced hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy delivered by a team trained in hyperbaric treatment. HBO therapy helps you heal, fight infection and encourages the formation of new small blood vessels
  • The wound care programs offer state-of-the-art treatments and expertise to accelerate wound healing for complex wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers, non-healing postoperative wounds, pressure sores, crush injuries, radiation wounds and more
  • In addition, the highly trained team can address complicated non-wound conditions including soft tissue radiation induced necrosis, hemorrhagic cystitis and idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss
